Al Pacino Became a Father Again at 83. Inside His Relationship With Noor Alfallah

They Grew Close Over Movies and Chess Before Welcoming Their Son Roman in June 2023

Al Pacino and film producer Noor Alfallah welcomed their son, Roman, in June 2023. Pacino was 83 when the boy was born, and Alfallah was 29. Roman was their first child together and the fourth for Pacino, whose three older children were already adults.

Their age difference drew much of the attention when the birth was announced. Alfallah’s account of how they became close started somewhere more ordinary. They lived near each other, began spending time together during the pandemic, and discovered how much they enjoyed watching movies and playing chess.

How a Dinner Party Turned Into a Friendship

Alfallah recalled meeting Pacino at a dinner party in the late 2010s. She had gone to film school and knew his work, so meeting the actor behind films such as The Godfather and Dog Day Afternoon made an impression. At the time, she had no idea they would eventually have a child together.

During the pandemic, living near each other made it easy to spend time together. Alfallah told Vogue Arabia that watching films with Pacino felt like an education in itself. They also played chess, and what had begun as a friendship grew into a romance.

By April 2022, the two had been publicly linked after they were seen out together in Los Angeles. In May 2023, Pacino’s representative confirmed they were expecting a child. The following month, the representative announced that Roman had been born.

Noor Alfallah Had Her Own Career in Film

Before her relationship with Pacino attracted widespread attention, Alfallah had already worked in film production. Her credits include the short films Le Petit Mort and Brosa Nostra, and she previously served as a vice president at Lynda Obst Productions. She later worked as a producer on The Apprentice.

Alfallah had also appeared in entertainment coverage years earlier, when she was romantically linked to Rolling Stones frontman Mick Jagger in 2017. When she spoke about getting to know Pacino, though, it was their shared interest in movies that gave her something to talk about beyond the public attention surrounding them.

Roman Joined a Family With Three Older Siblings

Pacino has a daughter, Julie Marie, with acting coach Jan Tarrant. He also shares twins Anton James and Olivia Rose with actress Beverly D’Angelo. Roman’s arrival brought him back to caring for a young child at a very different stage of his life.

Before Roman was born, Pacino said fatherhood had always meant a great deal to him and that welcoming another child at that point in his life felt especially meaningful. Alfallah later shared a photograph of Roman’s hand and wrote about how much becoming his mother meant to her.

How Pacino and Alfallah Have Described Their Relationship

In September 2023, a custody filing prompted questions about whether Pacino and Alfallah had separated. At the time, Pacino’s representative said the two were still together and had reached agreements concerning their son.

Pacino described his situation differently in an October 2024 interview with People. Asked if he was in a relationship, he said he was single. His representative described him and Alfallah as longtime friends who were raising Roman together.

In September 2026, Alfallah shared a photo of herself with Pacino and captioned it “Roman’s Mom & Dad.” The caption put their shared role in her own words, three years after they first announced his birth.
