Jammie Booker Questions Decision After World’s Strongest Woman Title Was Revoked
Champion Seeks Clarity After Controversial Ruling
Months after losing the 2025 World’s Strongest Woman title, athlete Jammie Booker continues to ask for a clear explanation about the decision that removed her from the top of the final standings.
Booker originally won the title at the Official Strongman Games World Championship in Arlington, Texas, in November. Her victory quickly became the center of a major debate after organizers later removed her title.
The decision came after officials learned Booker was born male. The information became public after other competitors reportedly received explicit images connected to Booker’s past work in adult entertainment.
The situation placed the championship under intense scrutiny and opened a wider discussion inside the strength sports community about eligibility rules, disclosure, fairness, and trust in women’s divisions.
Title Removed After Organizers Reviewed Eligibility
After the event, organizers stated that athletes were required to compete in divisions that matched their biological sex at birth. They said Booker would not have been allowed to compete in the Women’s Open category if the information had been known before or during the contest.
“Had this information been disclosed beforehand, the athlete would not have been eligible to compete in the Women’s Open category,” organizers said in a statement following the controversy.
The ruling changed the outcome of the competition. Andrea Thompson, who had originally placed second, was moved into first place and became the champion after Booker’s title was revoked.
The decision also left several athletes questioning how the situation had been handled. Some competitors said they had no knowledge of Booker’s background before the competition took place.

Booker Asks Which Rule Was Violated
Booker later addressed the controversy on social media, saying she was still looking for a specific explanation. She questioned what rule she had violated and said no clear policy had been shown to her.
“So, can anyone actually show me the rule I violated?” Booker wrote. “I’ve repeatedly been told that I violated a ‘clearly stated policy,’ but no one has been able to point to the exact policy they claim I broke.”
In another message, Booker listed several organizations she said have guidelines related to transgender athletes in sports. She named Strongman Corp., IFBB, IPF, Powerlifting USA, the IOC, and USS Strongman.
“Strongman Corp., IFBB, IPF, Powerlifting USA, the IOC, USS Strongman,” Booker wrote, referencing major governing bodies. “All of these organizations have rules related to transgender athletes.”
Competitors Raise Concerns About Transparency
Several competitors expressed frustration after learning about the situation. Their concerns centered on transparency and whether athletes should have been informed before the competition began.
Three-time champion Rebecca Roberts said trust is important in women’s strength sports and argued that competitors should know the eligibility conditions of the division they enter.
“Transgender women—people born male—should not be competing in women’s divisions,” Roberts said in a statement issued before the title was officially reassigned. “None of the athletes knew. The organizers didn’t know either. When something like that comes to light after the fact, it damages trust.”
Fellow competitor Jade Dickens also voiced anger after learning about the issue. She said she would have acted sooner if she had known before the event concluded.
“I was furious when I found out,” Dickens said. “If I had known earlier, I would have taken action before the competition even ended. Nobody had that information at the time.”

Past Career Adds Another Layer To The Debate
The controversy also drew attention to Booker’s previous work in adult entertainment under the stage name “Jammie Jay.” She had also been nominated for awards at the Trans Erotica Awards in 2020 and 2022.
While the past career became part of the public discussion, the central issue remained the eligibility decision and whether Booker had been given a clear rule before competing.
Booker’s position has focused on the lack of a specific policy being identified. Organizers, meanwhile, have maintained that the women’s division was tied to biological sex at birth.

A Broader Debate In Women’s Strength Sports
The dispute has become part of a larger conversation about women’s sports and how organizations define eligibility. In strength competitions, where physical power is central to the sport, questions about categories and rules often become highly sensitive.
Supporters of strict eligibility rules argue that women’s divisions must be protected to maintain fairness. Others believe athletes deserve clear written policies before a competition begins, especially when a decision can remove a title after the event has already ended.
For Booker, the main question remains unresolved. She says she wants to know the exact rule she broke and why that rule was not clearly identified.
For the other competitors, the issue is about confidence in the system. They want assurance that everyone entering the division is competing under the same understood requirements.
The 2025 World’s Strongest Woman controversy has therefore become more than a dispute over one title. It has become a test of how clearly sporting bodies communicate rules and how they handle eligibility questions after results are announced.

Final Standings Changed After The Decision
Once Booker’s title was removed, Andrea Thompson became the official champion. The change altered the final record of the event and gave the competition a very different ending from the one first seen on stage.
The original celebration was replaced by public disagreement, athlete statements, and questions about whether the issue should have been addressed before the competition began.
Booker has continued to push for answers, while other athletes have continued to emphasize transparency and fairness. The controversy remains one of the most discussed moments in recent women’s strongman competition.
For now, the decision stands, and Booker remains without the title she initially won in Arlington. Her challenge to the ruling has kept attention on the policies that govern women’s strength sports and the need for clear standards before athletes step onto the competition floor.
