The aircraft, widely known by the nickname “Lolita Express,” has not flown in over a decade. Time and neglect have visibly altered both its exterior and interior, leaving behind a deteriorating shell of what was once a fully operational private jet.

Parked at the Stambaugh Aviation facility in Brunswick, Georgia, the 133-foot-long plane has become a symbol tied to Epstein’s criminal past. Its presence there has sparked renewed interest as details surrounding Epstein’s activities continue to surface.

Renewed Attention Following Document Release

Earlier this year, the Department of Justice released more than three million documents connected to Epstein. The disclosure reignited public focus on every aspect of his life, including his holdings, properties, vehicles, and personal items.

Among those assets, the Boeing 727 has remained one of the most scrutinized. Because of its alleged use during the years Epstein operated his trafficking network, the aircraft occupies a central place in discussions about his activities.

Epstein purchased the plane in 2001. During its years in operation, it transported high-profile individuals across international destinations.

Eight years after it was sold by Epstein, shortly before his 2019 arrest, new images and video footage revealed the plane’s current condition. The once-luxurious interior has fallen into serious disrepair.

The New York Post was granted rare access to the inside of the aircraft. Reports describe the plane as being overrun by “insects and mildew.”

Years of inactivity and exposure have left visible marks. The aircraft’s structure remains intact, but its interior shows extensive deterioration.

Disturbing Items Discovered Onboard

According to accounts from inside the jet, a number of personal items were found scattered throughout the cabin. These remnants offer a glimpse into the plane’s past use.

Post reporter Georgia Worrell described being greeted by a “nose-curdling musty stench” upon boarding. The air inside reportedly reflected years of stagnation and decay.

Among the items discovered were “moldy shaving cream cans, used toothbrushes and orange-and-yellow hair ties.” Bathroom cabinets reportedly still contained baby lotion and baby powder.

A disassembled satellite phone was found hidden inside a nightstand. Dirty towels and paper napkins bearing Epstein’s initials were also left behind.

These objects, combined with the deteriorated surroundings, created what observers described as a deeply unsettling scene.

The Bedroom Area

Inside the aircraft’s bedroom, the bed remains in place, though its condition has significantly worsened. The duvet covering it is now reportedly infested with insects.

A pair of glasses sits on a nearby nightstand. The same nightstand concealed the disassembled satellite phone.

Above the bed, three emergency air masks dangle from the ceiling. Their presence adds to the sense of abandonment and decay within the cabin.

The New York Post reported that the bed set and padded floors were installed so that Epstein and his guests could have sex mid-flight. Survivors have previously stated that Epstein committed acts of sexual abuse aboard the aircraft.

The Sitting Room and Interior Design

A doorless opening leads from the bedroom into a sitting room area. The décor in this section includes red crushed velvet covering the walls.

The same material extends across a couch and two armchairs. The once bold interior design now appears faded and worn.

What was previously arranged for comfort and privacy now stands as a reminder of the plane’s controversial past. Dust, mildew, and insects have overtaken the cabin.

Despite its former status as a private luxury aircraft, the jet now reflects years of neglect.

Years of Abandonment

The aircraft has remained stationary for approximately ten years. During that time, environmental exposure and lack of maintenance have accelerated its deterioration.

The owner of the boneyard where the plane is stored spoke about its current state. According to him, the aircraft is no longer viable for flight.

“It’s in a significantly degraded condition, it’s sat there for 10 years, it has no engines…any airplane in that degraded of a condition would never fly again,” he stated.

The absence of engines and prolonged exposure to the elements have rendered the aircraft effectively inoperable.

Plans to Scrap the Aircraft

At one point, the plane was reportedly scheduled to be dismantled. The yard owner indicated that it was intended to be “cut up” and scrapped after being abandoned.

Those plans ultimately did not proceed. As a result, the aircraft remains intact, though heavily degraded.

The decision not to dismantle the jet has allowed it to remain a physical artifact connected to Epstein’s criminal history.

While it no longer serves any aviation purpose, its continued existence maintains public interest.
