A Routine Walk Takes a Sudden Turn

A man and his dog, Rocky, were approaching a parked motorcycle after completing a long walk on an extremely hot day. The streets were unusually quiet, the sun was intense, and the pavement had absorbed so much heat that the surrounding area felt almost deserted.
