Little Girl Stuns International Company During Translator Interview
A Surprising Candidate Enters the Room
A major international company was holding a private selection process for new translators when an unexpected candidate walked into the headquarters.
The applicants waiting in the lobby were adults in formal clothing, carrying folders, laptops, and documents. Many looked nervous after seeing other candidates leave the interview room disappointed.
Then the secretary called the next name, and a thin girl of about thirteen calmly stood up.
She wore a simple school uniform, old white sneakers, and carried a small backpack with a folder in her hands.
Several people in the lobby exchanged amused looks. Some whispered that she must be lost, while others assumed she was someone’s child.
The girl ignored the laughter and walked confidently into the conference room.
The Interview Begins With Doubt
Inside, company leaders, lawyers, and foreign partners sat around a large table. Michael Reynolds, the company owner, looked at the child in silence before asking if she was lost.
The girl calmly replied that she had come for the interview.
Her answer caused more laughter in the room, especially when she said she wanted to become an international translator.
Michael asked how many languages she claimed to know.
“Eight,” the girl answered.
She then listed English, French, German, Spanish, Russian, Italian, Chinese, and Japanese.
The Room Falls Silent
At first, the employees treated her answer as a joke. Michael decided to test her by speaking French.
The girl answered immediately in flawless French.
Then another person questioned her in Spanish. She responded without hesitation.
Others followed in German and Russian, but each time, the girl answered clearly and correctly.
The laughter slowly disappeared. The same employees who had mocked her began looking at one another in surprise.
A Contract Test Changes Everything
Michael still refused to accept that the young candidate was truly qualified. He placed a thick folder in front of her and told her to examine an international agreement connected to a Japanese company.
He explained that the company’s own specialists had spent two weeks reviewing the document.
The girl opened the folder and began turning the pages. The room became completely quiet as everyone watched her read.
After about a minute, she stopped and pointed to one clause.
She said there was a serious mistake in the Japanese version of the agreement. A term connected to technology rights had been translated incorrectly, and signing the contract could cause the company to lose part of its patent rights.
The Experts Confirm Her Discovery
Michael’s expression changed immediately. He took the documents and ordered the chief lawyer to check the section.
After reviewing the paragraph, the lawyer turned pale.
He confirmed that the girl was right. If the company had signed the contract as written, it would have lost a huge amount of money and part of the project rights.
The room that had mocked her moments earlier was now silent.
The girl calmly closed the folder and said she had noticed the mistake almost immediately.
A Personal Reason Behind Her Talent
Michael stood up and looked at her with a very different expression.
He asked who had taught her everything she knew.
The girl lowered her eyes and quietly explained that her mother had worked as a translator at an international court.
After her mother passed away, she continued studying alone.
What began as an interview filled with laughter ended with the entire office stunned by a young girl’s skill, discipline, and quiet confidence.
