The abandoned Route 66 motel had already been searched, and Detective Carter was ready to leave.

As Sarah pulled Tommy’s backpack from the wall, a hidden audio recorder attached beneath it began to play.

The recorded voice identified itself as Thomas Vance, the motel’s night manager from 2016. The message claimed that Detective Carter had returned to destroy evidence in Room 114.

The recording stated that the black ledger contained names of local officials connected to payments and coverups involving Tommy’s disappearance.

Sarah listened as the truth she had fought for finally emerged inside the same room where police had nearly walked away.

State Police Arrived At The Motel

State troopers soon surrounded the abandoned motel. Armed men who had arrived outside the room dropped their weapons when officers secured the scene.

Detective Carter was taken into custody after the recording, ledger, photographs, and backpack were secured.
